CMA senior staff and partners currently or have served on educational advisory boards at the University of Miami, Florida Atlantic University and at the University of Florida. CMA senior staff have contributed and worked on the Florida Engineering Society’s MathCounts program for many years. In addition, our firm is committed to promoting STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) throughout the state by partnering with our K-12 and Higher Education clients.
Healthcare Institutes
At CMA, our healthcare design professionals have decades of combined experience in the planning, design and execution of healthcare based projects around the state of Florida. Our team understands the unique challenges that are encountered in the development of healthcare facilities. We are familiar with ACHA requirements and understand the process of healthcare site design such as special access requirements, ADA accessibility, water system redundancy, special floodplain considerations, central energy plant access, utility corridors as well as special lift station designs and the use of macerators to handle conditions only present in hospitals.
The CMA team has designed and assisted in the construction management of dozens of healthcare facilities including brand new hospitals, hospital additions, emergency rooms, medical office buildings, long-term acute care centers, skilled nursing facilities, helipad designs and ADA accessible routes.

Boca Raton, FL 600 bed residence hall located in the southeast region of FAU's Boca Raton Campus. The project is pursuing LEED silver certification through the USGBC. The program budget is $41 million and includes the design of a 7 story residence facility, a dining facility, and the creation of a 360 space parking lot.

Boca Raton, FL FAU’s new parking garage located to the west of the new FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, FL. The building is pursuing environmental design certification through Green Globes. The program budget is $10.5 million and includes the design of a 4-story parking garage with future retail on the first floor serving FAU Stadium and the campus at large.

Miami, FL As a subconsultant to an architectural firm, Chen Moore and Associates is to provide civil engineering services for the renovation of the University of Miami Cox Science Building. Tasks include preparing demolition, paving, grading, drainage and utility relocation plans. Extensive coordination has been necessary with the University of Miami staff and utility owners to identify, field verify and coordinate utility relocation for the implementation of new entrance features.

Miramar, FL CMA, as part of the design/build team with Kaufman Lynn and Perkins + Will, is serving as civil engineer for the overall campus infrastructure and civil engineering for the first building of the new Southwest Campus of Broward College in the City of Miramar.

Loxahatchee, FL Site planning and land use entitlement services for a 32-bed expansion. Central Palm Beach County, Loxahatchee, FL. CMA worked as a subconsultant to Gresham Smith & Partners. The work required coordination with the hospital, and approvals through the Palm Beach County Planning Zoning and Building, Fire, Health, Environmental, Land Development, and Traffic Engineering Departments.

Boca Raton, FL CMA has been providing landscape architecture services on many projects for Florida Atlantic University. Working under an existing Civil Engineering Continuing Contract, we have completed many successful projects on most of their campuses throughout the state. The projects have a strong emphasis on sustainable design. Recent notable projects include the Parliament Hall, FAU Artwalk, and Parking Garage 3.
