TRANSPORTATION
CMA understands that a successful urban environment is composed of a number of elements that must integrate seamlessly. It must be pedestrian friendly and encourage street level activity; it must have vehicular circulation that leads to calm traffic; and it must provide parking solutions that maintain the urban fabric and promote density. CMA has extensive experience in working with the Transportation and Mobility Department. This experience has ranged from simple ADA repairs and facility upgrades to parking lots including full lot reconstruction to roundabout improvements that have greatly reduced traffic crashes. These successes have enhanced the missions of various cities and counties, CMA is proud to have these projects as part of our profile and continually strives to become involved in transit based project. Several of the major roadway and transportation projects that we have performed over the years are highlighted below.
Miami Lakes, FL. CMA is implementing drainage improvements identified on the most recent Town of Miami Lakes Stormwater Master Plan for approximately one square mile of an existing residential neighborhood near Lake Patricia in southern Miami Lakes near Ludlam Road. Services include utility coordination, schematic and final design phases, government permitting, bidding assistance, construction administration and statements of work completion.
Key West, FL. Chen Moore and Associates provided engineering services during design and construction of the navy pedestrian bridge. These activities include technical assistance, shop drawings, submittal review, field observation, and meeting attendance. The purpose of the bridge is to provide Navy personnel access over the proposed road to Fort Zachary Taylor. This pedestrian bridge will ultimately serve as the future gateway to Ft. Zachary State Park in Key West.
Ft. Lauderdale, FL. CMA worked on the Stormwater Master Plan update for the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. This project included gathering all existing information available from previous permits, reports and studies and confirming their accuracy for use in the existing conditions model; and preparing the existing conditions model with Interconnected Pond Routing Software and working with Broward County Environmental Protection Division and the SFWMD.
High Springs, FL. CMA provided construction administration for 13 projects for the City of High Springs. The projects consist of 20 roadway corridors within the City limits and include grading stormwater treatment swales; replacing drainage culverts; reconstructing roadway base, asphalt or chip seal surface treatment; constructing asphalt driveway turnouts; and signing and pavement marking.
CMA provided an infrastructure assessment and corridor visioning study to the Gainesville Community Redevelopment Agency for the Hawthorne Road Corridor from SE 14th Street to SE 24th Street. The study includes an evaluation of utility infrastructure including water, sewer, stormwater, gas, electric, and telecommunications; evaluation of the existing land uses and zoning to identify obstacles; and a corridor visioning document to present a master plan for redevelopment of the corridor.
Fort Lauderdale, FL CMA is developing a streetscape master plan for Dixie Highway in the Middle River Terrace Neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. CMA was contracted by the City to work with the local homeowners association who received a grant to fund the development of a complete streets master plan. The neighborhood was developed prior to many current planning and zoning standards being implemented in the City.
