Chen Moore and Associates' landscape architecture studio provides creative solutions for a diverse clientele and site applications. We are known and respected for our thorough understanding of site and permitting constraints prior to commencing projects and our technical knowledge of construction methods in the sub-tropics. We use design to create site-specific solutions and form a unique vision for the spaces we design. Our clients include private developers, architects, engineers, local government, and universities. A current sampling of the projects we are working on involve the site planning and landscape design of commercial properties throughout southeast Florida, streetscapes for Coral Springs and Miami Beach, and the amenities area of a 600 bed dormitory facility for Florida Atlantic University.

Our team has five LEED certified facilities in their portfolio including the Wellington Municipal Complex, FAU/UF Joint Use Facility, FAU Football Stadium, FAU Arts and Letters Classroom/Living Room Theatre Facility and FAU Innovation Village Student Dormitories. Our team also has five projects on the boards seeking LEED or Green Globes certification including the Broward County Addiction and Recovery Center, FAU 600 Bed Freshman Dormitories, FAU Parking Garage 3 (Green Globes), Seminole Tribe of Florida Tamiami Trail Community Center and Rosenwald Elementary School for the Palm Beach County School Board.

 

We have several Florida Registered Landscape Architects on staff who participate regularly in continuing education opportunities in order to maintain knowledge of regulations, design technology, and building materials.

 

We are proficient in various cutting edge programs and platforms, allowing us to deliver products quickly and efficiently while also having the ability to present a vision for a site in a style that best suits the project type. Some of the programs currently used by our studio are AutoCAD Civil 3D, Land F/X, SketchUp, Maxwell Render and the full Adobe Creative Suite to provide design illustration and accurate construction documents for our projects. We can produce high quality, presentation style graphics in house digitally or drawn and rendered by hand.

Irrigation

Irrigation is a major source of frustration for many Floridians. It is unfortunately common to see sidewalks being watered and our buildings being stained by poor quality water. At Chen Moore and Associates, we strive to make significant improvements by designing irrigation systems that deliver water efficiently and sustainably. Our landscape architecture studio includes a Certified Irrigation Designer who develops full irrigation plans in house and assists clients in the management of these systems. We are well versed in central control systems for large sites and have helped cities implement systems to save them time, money, and water. By coupling our knowledge of planting design and irrigation, we have the ability to design highly sustainable landscapes by grouping plant species with similar watering requirements and implementing an appropriate watering schedule. This past year alone, we performed major irrigation studies for Fort Lauderdale International Airport and three of Broward County’s Regional Parks. Properly designed and maintained irrigation systems provide benefits to our communities by helping our urban vegetative habitat survive during times of stress. Proper irrigation also improves the athletic fields that our children play on to ensure safe healthy surfaces.
